From: GEVA Commissioner – Kevin DesLauriers
Subject: The matter between GEVA and George Fetz has been resolved amicably. George has released the following statement:
My association with USAV/Region Two now known as GEVA started in 1952. I have had the privilege to represent GEVA as a player in the 1964 Olympic tryouts, with an East Coast team in Cuba in 1959 and over 60 National Championships. I have made friends within the volleyball community all over the country and Canada. I was honored 40 years ago by GEVA when they named a volleyball tournament after me.
My association with the GEVA volleyball community which has turned out to be a hobby for me has been amazing. I have run several hundred tournaments and was also the adult director and the GEVA referee Assigner. I have been an official for almost 50 years.
Over the last few years, however, I have been locked in a dispute with GEVA concerning my role as a GEVA referee assignor. We have recently been able to amicably resolve this matter, and both want to move forward supporting GEVA.
Yours in Volleyball
