GEVA High Performance Tryouts

TRYOUT TIMES (PLEASE MAKE NOTE OF YOUR DAUGHTER'S TRYOUT TIME ACCORDING TO AGE GROUPS LISTED BELOW):

May 18th at Downstate Athletic Center in Peekskill, NY : 

Future Select and Select- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM* (8:30 Registraton)

Youth- 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM* (12:30 Registration)

 

May 19th at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, NJ: 

Future Select and Select- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM* (8:30 Registraton)

Youth- 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM* (12:30 Registration)

Team Selection Camp: Weekend of July 12th - 14th (Friday afternoon to Sunday evening)

Selection Camp Cost: Youth and Select - $350.00, Future Select - $250.00

Team Camp: Weekend of July 19th - 21nd (Friday afternoon to Sunday evening)

Team Camp Cost: Free for those selected.

**Both camp weekends will be at Downstate Athletic Center in Peekskill, NY.  We will bus the players to and from site while staying at a local hotel.  Hotel will be secured with chaperones/coaches on site with the players**

High Performance Championships: July 22th-28th in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (the 22nd and 28th are travel days) Approximate player contribution towards the trip $550.00.

The High Performance Championships is one of USA Volleyball’s flagship events.  

The 90+ team event features tournaments for both boys and girls that include teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams , International teams and teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline. Past International teams have included: Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and Puerto Rico.

Age Defintions for International (High Performance) play are different then USAV:

Youth: Born in 1996 or after
Select: Born in 1998 or after
Future Select: Born in 2000 or after

GEVA USA HP INFORMATION

WELCOME TO THE GARDEN EMPIRE VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION

HIGH PERFORMANCE VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM (GEVA USA High Performance)

GEVA USA High Performance is the sole Sanctioned USA Volleyball High Performance Program in the GEVA Region.  We are endorsed by USA Volleyball.  The Program allows our region to train and compete under the USA Volleyball National HP Program umbrella.  We duplicate the programs, training, and concepts athletes from across the nation can receive if they make a USA Volleyball National Program camp or team.

The Mission of the Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA) Regional HP Program is to provide additional and unique development opportunities for the Region’s Elite Junior Volleyball Athletes as well as to the Region’s Elite and Aspiring Volleyball Coaches.  We operate in full compliance with the USA Volleyball National Team Athlete Development Philosophy.  Coaches are selected through an open application process.  Athletes are selected through a multi-tiered competitive selection process in compliance with USA Volleyball National Team Development Standards.

There are NO restrictions on the number of Coaches or Athletes allowed participating from any given Team, Club, School or other Organization.

The Program has NO Team, Club, or Organizational Alliances or Affiliations other than the Garden Empire Volleyball Association (GEVA) and The National High Performance Championships.

All interested players must make one of two tryouts (you may go to both).  Players from try outs will be selected by evaluation staff to go to the Selection Camp for their age group.  At Selection Camp the evaulation staff will select a team for both the Select and Youth age groups to go onto Team Camp (plus alternates).  The final teams will train together over the Team Camp weekend to get ready to compete at the High Performance Championships.
