2008 GEVA USA High Performance Program (3^rd Year)

 

The GEVA Region High Performance (HP) Program is a USAV endorsed program that allows our region to train and compete under the USA Volleyball National HP Program umbrella, duplicating on the regional level the same programs and training that athletes from across the nation can receive if they make a USA Volleyball National Program team. The mission of the GEVA Region HP Program is to provide additional and unique development opportunities for the Region’s elite junior volleyball athletes as well as to the Region’s elite volleyball coaches with regard to the USA Volleyball National Team athlete development philosophy.

 

2008 GEVA Region High Performance Program Age Groups

 

1. Girls National Youth (born in 1992 and after).

 

2. Girls National Select (born in 1994 and after).

 

3. Girls National Future Select (born in 1996 and after).

 

Benefits of being involved in the GEVA High Performance Program

 

• Play with the best young volleyball athletes in the GEVA Region in challenging and rewarding training environments.
• Learn USA Volleyball National Team Program systems and techniques
• Train and develop with the best GEVA coaches in the USA Volleyball Coaches' Pipeline
• If chosen as a member of GEVA’s National Youth or National Select age group team, you will compete against the best athletes in the country at the 2008 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships in Tucson, Arizona July 22-27,2008.

• Saturday February 23, 2008 (COMPLETED)
• Friday March 14, 2008 (COMPLETED)

• Saturday May 10, 2008
• 9am – 12pm at the Downstate Athletic Center, Peekskill, NY
• 3pm – 6pm at Queens College, Flushing, NY
• Sunday May 18, 2008
• 9am – 12 noon at Powerzone, Denville, NJ
• 3pm – 6pm at the Downstate Athletic Center, Peekskill, NY

 

GEVA Girls National Youth HP Camp Invitation Tryouts:

• Saturday May 10, 2008
• 6:30pm – 9pm at Queens College, Flushing, NY
• Saturday May 31, 2008
• 9:30am – 12 noon at Ramapo College, Mahwah, NJ

2008 GEVA Girls National Youth, Select, and Future Select HP Camps:

• We are in the process of finalizing the times and location for the GEVA HP Training Camps and plan on posting the information within the next week. HP Training Camps, and specific weekday/evening training sessions, from July 6 – July 20, 2008.

 

2008 GEVA Girls HP National Youth and National Select HP Championship Competition Teams Practices:

• Specific weekday evenings and weekend days July 14 – July 20, 2008

 

2008 USA Volleyball High Performance Championships:

• Tucson, Arizona July 22-27,2008. (Travel dates July 21 and July 28)
