GEVA High Performance Program Coaching

 

An Invitation to All Coaches

 

This is the 3^rd year for our High Performance Program and we are excited about the opportunity to add coaches to the Program staff.  This is your opportunity to work with some of the best coaches and volleyball athletes in the GEVA Region.

      In 2008, for the third year in a row, we will again be expanding our HP Program and will now be working with 3 age groups; USA Future Select (athletes born in 1996 and after), National Select (athletes born in 1994 and after), and National Youth (athletes born in 1992 and after). In each month of February, March, and April 2008 we plan to conduct Pre-tryout evaluation sessions for the USA Future Select and National Select age group athletes. In May 2008 we plan on conducting the USA Future Select and National Select age group tryouts for an invitation to attend the GEVA HP Region Training Camps which will be held in July 2008.

For the National Youth age group we will conduct tryouts in May 2008 for an invitation to attend the GEVA HP Region National Youth training camp, also in July 2008.

      We plan at this time is to field 2 tournament teams – one National Select and one National Youth – to compete against other High Performance Regional teams from around the country at the USA High Performance Volleyball Championships in Tucson, Arizona July 23-27, 2008.

   

We are looking for some very good coaches that have the following characteristics;

 

• High energy, enthusiasm for continuous learning, great communication & organization skills,
• A desire to make coaching volleyball athletes part of their career,
• The willingness to adapt skill-training philosophy to coincide with that used by USA Volleyball National Team Coaches and the USA High Performance Program for athlete development through the USAV Olympic Development Pipeline,
• The capability to evaluate talent without bias to an athlete’s previous experience or organizational affiliation,
• Achieved coaching success working with young volleyball athletes (girls ages 10-16)
