US Open 2012

Metropolis La Femme made its second consecutive appearance at the US Open in Salt Lake City and it was as good, if not better than last year. The team enjoyed many highlights during the trip, not only finishing in the top ten, but we also enjoyed exploring this western city, not knowing it had so much to offer.

The hotel accommodations were great with its close proximity to the convention center and the downtown area was so clean it made it very inviting to explore, walk around and dine. Our team also took to some hiking while we were there, seeing breathtaking views when we weren’t playing.

In the convention center and on the court, the tournament was again run very smoothly this year and we enjoyed the competition, referees and overall upbeat energy of everyone attending. We had some amazing matches and it was a great experience to finish strong and have a positive end to our season. Everyone on the team expressed how much they enjoy making this trip every year and because of the positive experience last year, in Dallas, it made it that much easier to sign up the team to participate this year. I am happy to report that the team left Salt Lake City with another year of great memories and I’m sure it will not be a question of attending next year. USA Volleyball put on a great tournament again this year for the adults and we hope to earn another strong finish next year.

Everyone’s hard work involving this year’s tournament should be commended because it was again another great experience.
